it was convenient for the business we had to conduct
The staff because they were friendly made you feel welcome and were helpfull. Great scottish breakfast and plenty of choices to get u started for the day
Stayed one night only at hotel on way home from buisness the owners were very helpfull and food was excellent will stop again sometime in the future
The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was enormous. Plenty of space in the car park.
There wasn't much to do either in the hotel or the town. There was no shower in our bathroom and the beds were very squeaky. Both the back and the front entrances could have been made more attractive.
A no frills small hotel with very friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable bedroom and an excellent small restaurant. The bar is a bit rough and ready, but it is after all a small hotel catering for locals as well as small numbers of residents.
Free wifi Free parking
Facilities could of been improved, no shower in room Room was cold, needed to use portable heater.
Breakfast Okay, Beds also.
Shabby, In the evening (Friday) noisy until 23.00. Restaurant not so good. Douche in the bad, but no curtains, so impossible to take a normal shower without transforming the room into a swimming pool.
St Ronans was very flexible. We got there a lot later than expected and they didn't mind us not getting there till nearly 11 at night as they were running the pub downstairs. Finding our way out first thing in the morning was a bit tricky as the main doors were locked but there is back door access through the beer garden makng it easy to come and go throughout the day and the busses run every half hour to Edinburgh passing through Peebles on the way.
The hotel has a couple of lovely dogs that roam the pub. We love dogs but if you don't, you might want to either avoid the bar area or try another hotel.
We had a wonderful room and everyone was very friendly. Great value for money too.
The outside of the hotel was offputting, it looked like a bit of a rough pub, but we were pleasantly suprised when we saw our room.
i liked that it catered for the dogs, staff friendly and chatty.
Welcoming staff. Possibility to have very early breakfast which was of a good standard. Car parking on site. Very good en suite shower room.
Large spider and 3 butterflies in the room upon arrival! Tea/coffee- making facilities very basic. No chair in room for putting clothes on.
There was nothing positive or complimentary to say about this "hotel", (which is no more than a pub with rooms), apart from the availability of a Wi-fi connection, something all hotels should now provide anyway. It is not run as a hotel in the true sense of the word.
I would never stay here again. The television in the room did not work, and there was a faulty power switch in the bathroom which prevented use of the shower. I negotiated a substantial reduction in the charge for the room. One of the worst aspects, however, was the use of bad language by the proprietors in the company of their "locals", in the bar, without any consideration for us as their guests when we had a drink in the bar. Nice enough people as they were, the continual use of the "f" word was appalling and not what one would expect. All-round standards need to be raised significantly, and I would recommend you consider reviewing their presence on your website. (We were not aware of anyone else staying there while we were there.)
The breakfast was good and the beds comfortable.
Don't expect to be able to sleep at saterday night. The music from the bar travels quite uncomfortably up to the rooms, in particular to room 1. After 11 pm, We asked three times whether the music coud be reduced but were told that the punters wouldn't like that. Also a lot of noise from the street and a bar fight in the hotel at 3 pm. Very bad experience.
Nice place, reasonably priced. Nice room, location
Too much disposable stuff. I am very Eco conscious. Didn't like the individual packets cornflakes, milk etc. Globally we have lost 80 per cent rain forest & I am very aware of that. Just want to point that out in as friendly a way as possible :-)
The staff was very accomodating
The bedrooms were very cold as it only had a small oil heater in them as the central heating didn't appear to come on in the morning. The decor was a bit dated.
